A mini-version of the Apple iPad is on the roll
Everyone is really busy talking about the new Apple iPad 3. But a smaller size will go into production phase in the third quarter of this year, according to a report based in Asia. Apple is expected to start the production of a smaller version of the iPad – a mere 7.85 inches, in the latter part of the year, as cited by sources of DigiTimes, which is based in Taipei. This latest update was received on February 23rd 2012. This new Apple product could really heat things up in the world of technology.
The price of this new mini-version could be as low as $250-$300, according to the report. Some people expect the release of an 8 GB iPad 2 on March 7 at the launch of the new iPad 3, with a price below $400, before the reduction in price of the smaller version takes over. This latest report is in accordance with a number of previous reports regarding the 7.85 inch iPad, including reports from the sources of CNET itself. In October 2011, a number of sources who talked to display manufacturers in Asia informed CNET about the rising chatter regarding an iPad-mini.
However, many Apple observers are dumbstruck by the idea of a mini version of the Apple iPad, especially since the idea was rejected by Steve Jobs himself. However, the times are changing and that too at an unimaginable rate. According to Amazon, a 7 inch tablet could prove to be a favourite with consumers all over the world. Furthermore, the 7.85 inch version of the Apple iPad is expected to come with the same screen resolution as that of the iPad 2, i. e. 1024*768 pixels per inch, which means that the applications do not have to be changed for accommodation in the smaller screen.
